Asbestos Surveyor/ Analyst

Location: Belfast

Due to continued growth in our asbestos consultancy, W H Stephens are looking to recruit a high calibre, committed, flexible Asbestos Surveyor and/or Analyst based in Northern Ireland to join the team in our Belfast office to cover a mixed portfolio of contracts. Consideration will be given to applicants who already hold the relevant Asbestos Proficiency Certificates.

We are a leading, independent consultancy and work with owners, occupiers, developers, and funders across both private and public sectors.

Depending on the role, key tasks will include
  • Conducting asbestos management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys on various buildings, including, commercial, healthcare, ecclesiastical, industrial, maritime, and residential sites.
  • Carry out asbestos re-inspection surveys at various healthcare sites and update client asbestos databases to ensure estate and database is managed in compliance with asbestos regulations.
  • Conduct asbestos air monitoring and 4-stage clearance testing in a wide range of environments.
  • Participate in internal QC and external PT Schemes to ensure continued improvement and quality results for clients.
  • Collating and producing comprehensive asbestos reports as required via dedicated and market leading asbestos software platform with onsite tablets.

Qualifications & Experience
  • The applicant must have attained the P402 and/or the P403/P404 asbestos qualifications.
  • Must have hands on experience with asbestos surveying or asbestos analytical works.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be proficient in the use of TEAMS Software.
  • Must have good organisational skills.
  • Must be able to build a good rapport with clients.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Requirements / Attributes

Overall, the post holder will be an all-rounder with a smart disposition, flexible to the everyday stresses and strains in the business environment, with a strong work ethic and able to work independently whilst at the same time carry out the work effectively and within time frames set.

The post holder will also need to be flexible with regards to travelling to sites throughout Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and other parts of the UK.
