Asbestos Surveyor

Location: Belfast

Due to continued growth in our asbestos surveying consultancy, WH Stephens are looking to recruit an experienced, committed and flexible Asbestos Surveyor based in Northern Ireland to join the team in our Belfast office, covering a mixed portfolio of contracts.

Consideration will be given to applicants who already hold the relevant Asbestos Proficiency Certificates.

Key tasks will include:
  • Conducting asbestos management, refurbishment and demolition surveys acrossa variety of buildings including commercial, healthcare, ecclesiastical, industrial,maritime and residential sites.
  • Carrying out asbestos re-inspection surveys and assisting with updating clientasbestos registers.
  • Preparing site sketches and marking up floor plans during surveys to accuratelyrecord the location of asbestos containing materials.
  • Collating and producing comprehensive asbestos survey reports using dedicatedasbestos software on site tablets.
  • Providing general support with the organisation of survey information andrecords, as required.
  • Participating in internal quality control procedures to ensure continuedimprovement and high-quality results for clients.

Qualifications & Experience
  • The applicant must have attained the BOHS P402 qualification.
  • Must have hands-on experience in asbestos surveying.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Must have experience using electronic asbestos data systems (e.g. TEAMS).
  • Must have good organisational skills.
  • Must be able to build and maintain a good rapport with clients.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Requirements / Attributes

Overall, the post holder will be an all-rounder with a professional manner, flexible to the everyday demands of the business environment, with a strong work ethic and able to work independently whilst also delivering work effectively and within agreed timeframes.

The post holder will need to be flexible with regard to travelling to sites throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and occasionally other parts of the UK.
